Call for Chapter Board Nominations: Let’s keep the momentum going!

Estimados/Estimadas,

Thank you for making this past year a successful one for our chapter.

Because of your participation, we organized several workshops and
meetings in the nation’s most influential newsrooms. Because of your
generosity at Una Noche con Periodistas, we replenished our chapter
account and raised enough money to start the Charlie Ericksen
Journalism Fund. Because of your commitment to NAHJ, our chapter has
become one of the most active in the country.

We believe our efforts are helping you network with news managers
while providing opportunities to develop your skills needed to meet
your career goals.

As the Chapter Board term comes to an end, we turn to you to keep the
momentum going. We are looking for enthusiastic members to run for the
NAHJ DC 2012-2013 Chapter Board. The following positions are
available:

President
Vice-President
Treasurer
Secretary
Officer-at-large

We will accept nominations until the close of the business on July 3.
Please read below for nominating instructions.

Anyone running for an executive position must be a regular NAHJ
member, must have paid this year’s dues, and must continue to pay them
while serving on the board.

Chapter members will vote July 16-27. The new chapter board term
begins on August 1 and members will serve one year.

I have been designated to serve as elections chair since I will move
to New York City in the fall to pursue my graduate studies at
Columbia University. As chair, I will verify the nominees’ eligibility
and collect information for the ballot.

Sincerely,
Azhar AlFadl Miranda
Vice-President and Elections Chair
