Letty Salamanca is a native of Derwood, Maryland and a recent Journalism graduate from American University in Washington D.C. The 23 year-old studied Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City before transferring to American University to pursue an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Law & Society. Salamanca is a former blogger for GlobalFootballToday.com covering the U.S. men’s soccer team in both Spanish and English and has interviewed international soccer players from teams around the globe including Manchester United, Inter Milan as well as various national teams. In addition to her work with GlobalFootballToday.com, she has also written pieces that have been published in El Tiempo Latino, W27, The Eagle, and HerCampus.com.
Salamanca is passionate about promoting mental health awareness and is active in fundraising for the National Eating Disorders Foundation. She currently interns for the Major League Soccer Players Union in Bethesda, Maryland and hopes to continue working in the field of sports law or pursue a career in sports journalism.
