The supplement will provide students with a check worth $465 and $35 for NAHJ membership dues. The winners will also be matched with a mentor who works as a journalist in the D.C. area.

About the supplement:
Our intention is to help students who go to school and live in the District, Maryland, or Virginia. We understand many students intern for free and may not have the financial support to do so. We hope these funds will help ease the financial burden.
We have worked closely with NAHJ founder Charlie Ericksen on the way to distribute this money. He has helped launch the careers of many journalists and to honor him, we launched this supplement in his name.
