Sharpen Your Storytelling Skills with Help from the Pros

Resume Workshop at American University May 2011

The NAHJ Washington, D.C. Chapter is offering an affordable workshop series this spring. We counted all the votes… and the results are in… members want to learn Video Production for the web, English/Spanish Writing for Print/Broadcast/Web, and Radio Storytelling. We are in the process of confirming dates and locations of each workshop. The workshops are open to any NAHJ member and members of other journalism groups in the Washington area. If you are interested in presenting or can host a workshop, please let us know.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
Video production for web: This workshop will teach participants the basics of shooting and editing. Our team will take participants outdoors to teach how to shoot strategically to make the editing process easier. Participants will then edit a video sequence.

Writing workshop: Take your news writing to the next level in all mediums: print, broadcast, and web.  This is a good refresher course for journalists who have not written in a while or for those looking to sharpen their writing skills.

Radio Story Telling: Learn to use sound to tell stories. Develop your storytelling skills and review equipment and audio elements needed for a great audio story.

COST
One workshop is $30, Two workshops $50, and Three workshops $65.
Proceeds will benefit the D.C. Chapter Fund for professional development, financial assistance and scholarships to our members.

We will open registration once we confirm the dates and locations of each workshop.
