Meet our Fall 2017 Charlie Ericksen Supplement Winner: Jeanine Santucci

NAHJ DC is pleased to announce our Fall 2017 Charlie Ericksen Journalism Supplement winner Jeanine Santucci. The NAHJ DC board was very impressed with their passion for journalism and uplifting traditionally underrepresented narratives. She will be awarded a supplement worth $500 and be matched with a mentor who works as a journalist in the DC area.

NEW PIC.pngJeanine Santucci is a student at Georgetown University in her junior year. She is majoring in justice and peace studies with double minors in journalism and women’s and gender studies.
As an aspiring advocacy journalist, Jeanine is passionate about uplifting traditionally underrepresented narratives through her writing. During her time at Georgetown, she has written about student activism for campus paper The Hoya and served a year as its copy chief. She went on to intern with Street Sense Media, where she wrote about health care issues for those in poverty or experiencing homelessness in D.C. She was later a correspondent for USA TODAY’s College network, where she wrote news features on topics relevant to college students. She is currently interning with Washington City Paper, writing about local news, arts, and culture.
