We invite you to join a panel discussion that will help you prepare to meet with recruiters. The discussion will be led by representatives from CBS, NPR and the Wall Street Journal–companies that will be recruiting at the fair this year.

They’ll share their advice on ways to improve your resume, approach recruiters, and make an impression. They will also share the skills they are looking for as they search for talent for their companies.

NAHJ DC held a Congressional meet and greet between Hill communication staffers and journalists on Dec. 11 at the U.S. Capitol.

The off the record bipartisan event was co-hosted by the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA) and the Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus (SBLC).

Members of the DC Chapters of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists were invited.

The event helped build communication between both groups and served as an opportunity for NAHJ and NABJ members to learn about best practices for source building.

NAHJ DC is pleased to announce our Fall 2017 Charlie Ericksen Journalism Supplement winner Jeanine Santucci. The NAHJ DC board was very impressed with their passion for journalism and uplifting traditionally underrepresented narratives. She will be awarded a supplement worth $500 and be matched with a mentor who works as a journalist in the DC area.

Jeanine Santucci is a student at Georgetown University in her junior year. She is majoring in justice and peace studies with double minors in journalism and women’s and gender studies.

NPR hosted NAHJ DC members for a Hispanic Heritage Month mixer and journalism panel on Wed. Oct. 11. NPR National Education Correspondent Claudio Sanchez moderated a conversation about what it means to be a Latino journalist today and what our community can do to continue furthering diversity in newsrooms across the country. The panelists included Fernando Pizarro from Univision, Daniella Diaz from CNN and Erika Gonzalez from NBC News4.
